Graphic / UX / Web Designer

We are seeking a Designer to join our in-house Development and Marketing team here at Tutora.

What is Tutora?

Our business connects local tutors with those looking to learn, across all subjects - from Maths and Science to Singing and Computing - you might think of us as the AirBnb of Education. Having only launched 2 years ago, we are now backed by some of the UK's leading investors and have grown to become the largest tutoring company in the UK.

Our team is committed to providing an outstanding user experience. We are seeking a designer who would like the opportunity to work on a site viewed by half a million users a month.

The Role

We would welcome applications from outstanding designers here in Sheffield in a design role that will see you working with both the Development and Marketing teams to create designs for simple marketing material to full blown pages on our site.

This is not a 9 to 5 office job! You'll be working at the heart of a rapidly growing business, interacting with the whole team to find real-life solutions for our users. We'd like to hear from entrepreneurial candidates with an enthusiasm for growing our business and a desire to work in the start-up world.

You will primarily be responsible for designing our user-facing web pages, with the view to constantly improving UX. Alongside these duties, you will also work with the Marketing team to create promotional material to engage new students and tutors, as we continue to grow the business.

An ideal candidate will, therefore, have:

  • Essential: Experience of web design for large, scalable sites, across both mobile and desktop.
  • Essential: Experience of designing marketing material for email (ideally Send Grid), remarketing, social media and offline campaigns.
  • Essential: A strong awareness of UX requirements.
  • Essential: An appetite for moving fast, getting creative, and working hard.
  • Desirable: Experience of working with HTML.
  • Desirable: Experience of creating infographics and illustrated/graphic content.
  • Desirable: An ability to create video content.
  • Desirable: Some coding capability (to demonstrate an understanding of the technical demands of your designs).
